Dear Lynn,
There is a phrase how do I love thee, let me count the ways. I am finding at times when I am waiting Jesus says wait upon me. So here goes my ways of waiting. I have an estranged relationship with my Mother. My younger brother and I went a few years back to speak with our Mother about how she has wronged so many family members. First we told her that we loved her but Jesus loves her more. We left thinking that maybe Jesus would not make us wait for an answer to our prayers regarding our Mother's ways. She is still doing the same things over and over again. We have grown up with her saying or doing things that cause such hurt. Where are you Jesus in this, we are still waiting on you?
Next scenario is a friend fell from her attic, in her garage while her husband was gone and hit her head. Her head injury was so bad Lifeline helicopter came to a field across from her home to take her to a hospital 50 miles away. She cannot talk, cannot walk, cannot eat and she was sent to a health care facility this last fall and now the insurance has said she is healthy and October 1, 2009 she was sent home. Her husband is now taking care of her and her visiting nurse program has ran out of benefits. She has to be bathed, she has a feeding tube, she cannot walk and her husband is doing all of this with help from siblings from their families at home. Also some of our church members are helping to take in food, having Bible study in their home, yard work, sitting with our special lady while her husband goes to run errands.
Waiting on my Mother to come around, I have volunteered to help start a non-profit program called, The Buddy Bag Program, in our small town in Indiana. Each Friday, donated back pack bags go home with each child that qualifies for free or assisted lunch so they can E.A.T., Everyone Ate Today. On Friday evening, they will eat (1) meal, Saturday (3) meals, Sunday (3) meals. They return the back packs on Monday morning for us to begin the program again. The cost at this time is $110.00 per child per year which for us it is ten months. Our children will eat with God's blessings and our assistance every weekend. Jesus said quit waiting on me and get up and we can do this together.
Waiting on Jesus for a small miracle with my friend from church. Jesus said get up and go prepare a meal in their home and read from my word to your friend and all of those that are helping with her. My small miracle came in a very small way, when my friend said HI. Thank you Jesus for this small miracle.
So Lynn, I tried waiting but our Jesus said get up and I will show you not to wait upon the Lord.
Still serving Jesus,
